Lost Key, Tire Rotation & Recalls

6204 Views 10 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  fastdriver
After someone stole my messenger bag in Northern California a few weeks ago, I needed to get a replacement key for my Cruze LTZ. I was pleasantly surprised that the key only cost me $106, including programming of both keys. Not to mention the peace of mind knowing the old key is now useless.

While there, I had the Tire Rotation and TPMS Relearn done for $30, and they also took care of both Recall inspections.

In and out in less than 90 minutes. I love this car.

that is what u call service.
Wow, that is great service. I'm surprised the replacement key was so reasonably priced!

After 2 days in service to get my leaky windshield looked at/fixed, this is how my car came back to me:

Take it back and have them replace it. Was that a dealership?
Yup. They didn't even say anything to me. I just noticed on my service invoice that it said "Tech ordered right A pillar molding, warped and cracked...customer to return for right A pillar molding on back order"

Was confused, because there was nothing wrong with my A pillars when I left the car. Then I looked and saw that mess. Warped and cracked?? No, MELTED. How does that even happen?? Some kind of hacks working in the service department.

With my G5, they once returned my car to me with a 3-inch pen mark on the door. Then another time there was mud on my seat. This is the worst damage they've done to date. I bring my car here because it is extremely convenient for me, but I'm tired of this BS.

Looks like a lazy tech got the heat gun to close!

Wow, that's just ridiculous.

Great 2 know about cost of key. Was that for two keys? I use to rotate my own tires now I have to take it to the dealer so they program the right tires to the location on vehicle. I hope aftermarket comes out with a tool
for that purpose.
The dealership rotated my tires for free with my free oild change. :D

Sounds like it. If I'm not mistaken, Orange County, CA is an "upper" class area, so maybe they have a more intelligent crew in service. Many dealers leave a LOT to be desired when it comes to caring for your car the way you expect them to. Just look at what luv2cruze just faced! I would have gone right to the owner/GM of the place and dragged him out to see what they did WITHOUT even saying a word to you!

This is why I HATE to go to the dealer for anything except oil changes. I usually wait for the car instead of leaving it. If I do have to leave it, I write down the mileage.
