Most Miles on Chevy Cruze still running.

I am curious to hear from other owners that are still running the original motors & transmission & how many miles beyond the 150000 the cars expected service life are still running. My 2014 1.4L turbo has 254k. My buddies 2012 1.4L made it to 279k before a head gasket leak killed it. He was going for 400k.

As far as a gasoline Cruze goes there was a guy about a month ago the he saw one at an auction with 390,000 miles.
I have a 2012 eco, 285,000 + miles. all OEM. running strong. I am the original owner

That's amazing. What kind of service history do you have on the vehicle.

I traded my old 12 LTZ in at 190,000 miles. Pretty much just routine maintenance on it. The only outliers was the trans cooler lines and a failed AC hose at the evaporator. otherwise it was routine maintenance following the dealer schedule. I followed the OLM as well and went 7 - 8,000 miles between oil changes on dino oil. Front brakes were done at 125K, serp belt at 150K, never did the rear brakes.
I have 134,000 on my 2014 eco. I'm the original owner. Only repairs not under warrantee were two front wheel bearings, failing trunk electric button, which I now live without, and a set of shocks and struts.... the ride quality was degenerating, could have let it go.

The PCV valve went out under warrantee. Still the original brakes! Original tires lasted 102,000. Good year assurance tires. Needless to say I bought another set of the same. I have used Pennzoil full synthetic almost from the beginning. Still doesn't burn any oil.

I'm shooting for 250,000 at least. Very happy so far with the car.

I wonder if the motor or trans had been replaced on that car?

I'm assuming so. I can't see the 1.4L LUJ/LUV or the 6T40E lasting that long, even with impeccable maintenance.

My daughter's '12 LT had 260,000 on it when I traded it in Jan '21. Ran great. Its probably still on the road somewhere. Looking back, I should've kept that car. It owed us nothing.

Regular routine maintenance per owners manual. Use valvoline 5w30 full synthetic, avg about 6500-7000 miles per change, ac delco filter. I replaced the turbo around 175k because of hole in housing. I just had to have the radiator replaced because it was cracked and had them do the trans cooler lines that I had. I am in the middle of moving, so all tools are in storage, otherwise I would of done it myself. The front engine cover is only part leaking on the car now, but is only down a 1/2 quart between oil changes. Not sure if I would do that job myself.

And I have replaced intake twice since warranty has expired. Last time was free. I have replaced the camshaft cover twice. Thermostat housing twice. Idler pully. Other than that, all original.

2014 Diesel Cruze with 226,000 miles. Original engine (Opel diesel) original tranny, even original brakes! This car came through a collision with a deer and came out just fine. Replacing tires all the time though. 🙄 Also went through batteries every other year. Had the recall issue with the phantom starting with the key left in the ignition. This car is the best!

2017 Cruze Premier 1.4L @375962 miles and still going. Replaced #1 fuel injector (bad gas). Both O2 sensors a month ago. Struts scheduled to happen soon roads are bad in ATL aka "Pothole Central" Will have ball joints, bearings, and motor mounts inspected for wear.
Mobile 1 5W30 Extended Oil Mobile 1 Filter Oil Change at 25 - 30% religiously. Use Midgrade Gas at QT or Racetrack only after bad gas incident at around 120k

IIRC @XtremeRevolution has had discussions with a Gen I owner that has over 750,000 miles on it. I have no idea if it is original drivetrain though.

We used to be able to give mileage badges, but the new software is not as friendly. We are trying to figure out how when more pressing issues are not there.

That's wild, I didn't know that 150k was an expected service life for some of these. Is that reference out there somewhere, showing different mileage targets for different models? :D
Mine is a 2012 eco and I was told when I bought it that no major maintenance is prescribed until 200k, let alone death of the car. :D
I do get concerned sometimes, since it does seem to run a little hot occasionally.

I bought it in Aug of 2011 and now it has 168k on it. The only big trips to the service shop have been 2 or 3 coolant leak repairs, which are annoying, but I'm pleased there haven't been more issues.
Did have to replace the alternator once, but I figure that's normal for a car that's almost a dozen years old. Water pump was replaced during those coolant fixes too, and that part was covered by the original warranty.
What does surprise me a lot, was that the brakes still haven't needed anything in all these years! I do a lot of freeway driving, so that probably helps.
Oil is always synthetic and always replaced around 4,000 miles. The Goodyear Assurance Tires always last about 80,000 miles, now on the third set.
Still getting good mileage on the hwy, advertised at 42 mpg when I bought it for 21 grand. Original trip odometer shows an average hwy/city of 34.5 mpg over the entire 168k miles, and 36 mpg over the last 25k miles on the 2nd trip odo. A full tank can go nearly 600 miles.

2017 Chevy Cruze Premier 393K miles original engine and transmission. Only repairs is tie rods. Motor mounts may be needed soon.

Just an update. I was recommended a free carfax-like app to try recently. I tested it by looking this car's VIN up, as I was curious what happened to this car after I traded it. I found out that this car IS still on the road somewhere in Indiana. Its got to have 300,000 miles on it by now.
