Hi, I bought my Chevy Cruze LS 2012 automatic 3 months ago and I'm just now getting a replacement key.
Yesterday I picked up a flip key from the dealer (the key I got with the car is a generic gm transponder key with no unlock/ alarm buttons). I tried the whole turn on the car for 5-10 seconds than insert the new key but this didn't work.

My guess is that a generic GM key cannot program a flip key, could someone please help me get this flip key programmed lol. I really don't want to pay that extra too the dealership. #brokecollegestudent
Here's a picture of both keys..

this is the tutorial I used to program a VALERO remote key I had cut at the dealership but not purchased there

If this doesn't work, then maybe that key has a different method of programming OR you already have too many keys programmed into the car. I believe the limit is 3, not 100% on what the limit is but there is a limit.
