New '16 Cruze Limited 1LT in my possession!

Hey guys, new member here. I picked up my '16 Cruze Limited last week, a Champagne Silver 1LT with tech package....$21,620 sticker price. I took advantage of Chevy's aggressive pricing on 24 month leases for '16 Cruzes. As a Volt owner, I was also able to receive an additional $2,500 in Volt loyalty money which I applied towards the lease. Combined with $614 in GM card earnings, I was able to receive $6,889 in total leasing incentives and ended up driving away in my new Cruze without paying a single penny. Just 23 monthly payments of $85.

And I also received $300 in visa e-giftcards from the dealer, and will soon get a $700 Costco giftcard as well. This deal was a no brainer!! $40 effective monthly payment after all incentives factored in.
If it wasn't for my state (MD) taxing the entire sales price of a lease instead of just the monthly payments, this deal would have literally made me money!

Kind of dumb on leasing a vehicle, you have to pay sales tax on it, even though you don't legally own this car?

And what's this jazz about paying sales tax on the sticker price of the vehicle? Wisconsin does this, don't have to look for crooks in a dark alley, all working for the government and also getting darn good fringe benefits by doing so.

Thanks. I have a Ford lease that is up in a couple of months, and needed something cheap to replace it, and the Cruze deal was just too good to pass up. Another Volt would be way more expensive, even with fuel savings (which isn't that much right now, with gas at $1.82 a gallon in my area).
The Cruze should work fine till I eventually purchase my next vehicle....hopefully a Chevy Bolt. :p

Congratulations!! If you wanted to buy it rather than lease, how much would they have let you have it for?
To good to pass up that kind of deal! Welcome to the forum.

Whelp, assuming I could toss my Volt loyalty money on top of the best advertised price, I'm thinking the sale price would have been right at $14k.

Nice!! Seems like a pretty good deal either way.

So I got my GM Financial account registered....I have yet to make a single payment on the Cruze, but the payoff quote for my Cruze is $14,955. That number includes FULL MD sales tax, so an actual sale price would have been around $13k....pretty nuts!

btw, here is a photo of my Cruze :eek:ccasion14:

How much can you talk them down for me to buy a 2016 cruze? I'll give $9999.99 tax, title, dock, destination fees and license included out the door...no?
