Hi all! I've recently purchased a 2012 Cruze Eco and figured I would join the community here for resources, advices and to contribute. The car us 100% stock as of now, planning on adding fog lights, backup camera and possibly convert the trunk to accommodate a spare wheel. Looking forward to get started on these projects!l

Welcome to CruzeTalk. I added the GM Fog Lights - there's a huge difference in how the low beams work. For the spare tire, follow the link I my signature.

Welcome to the forum and I have the same car the 2012 Eco 6M. I too have added the fog lights and bought the spare tire. As Ober said the fog lights surely help the low beam headlights. We got lots of good ideas around here so look around and be sure to shoot out any questions Do you have the 6M or automatic.

I'm guessing the manual. The automatic had an option for the spare tire and most came with it.

If fog lamps were installed at the factory, would add six bucks to this cost of the car. But forced as a dealer installed option. And with the 2013 models, still have to get your firmware updated even if you DIY.

Really a darn right dirty trick, never owned a vehicle with such poor side lighting as the Cruze, and almost hitting a person when going around a corner due to this poor side lightning, adding fogs became a complete necessity.

Hope someone from GM is reading this, would like to kick his butt.

Daughter's 2015 Kia Soul base model, a 13K buck new vehicle came from the factory stock with fogs, here's proof.

Already said screw you GM before, time to say this again.

Thanks everyone for the tips. So much fun stuff you can do with the car! Actually right now I'm just focusing on learning how to drive manual. Anyone know what's up with the "low coolant level without external leak" recall? Noticed coolant level was about an inch below the low mark, looked on the web and saw the recall, brought to the dealer and they couldn't find any leak and just topped it off.

They don't really have a fix, so the recall just tells the dealers to check for leaks and then refill whenever it comes in low.

I noticed my surge tank was a little low as well, I had a bottle of anti-freeze sitting around from the issues I had with the cobalt so I topped it off. Hasn't gone back down so I'm not concerned.

Found some info regarding coolant loss in Blue Angel's "FIX: Coolant Odors/Coolant Loss From Reservoir"
thread (not allowed to post links yet...)

So I checked my overflow tank and sure enough the throat area has the same roughness as shown in Blue Angel's thread and my o-ring shows similar level of deformation. I'm not noticing any smell in the cabin or outside, but I'll probably go ahead and get some thicker o-ring anyway just to be on the safe side.
