Hello.
New here and new to Chevy Cruzes. I bought a white and boring 2017 4dr LT sedan about a month ago (autostop is fking annoying...)

Its been awhile since I've been active in any forums. Years ago i was an active member of a few S-series forums. I used to have a 00 Blazer and a 98 Jimmy I S/C'ed. I did the most to the Jimmy. Lowered, LSD, Shift kit, exhaust, fuelpump, marine intake, efans self tuned with HPTuners bla bla bla...

Now i have another GM and im excited about getting a new laptop and tuning my Cruze.

Other than tuning I dont see many mods to it in the new future. Might lowerit, debage it and color match the bowtie emblems if i find i cant easily remove them all together.

I am very interested in learning what i can get out of this LE2 with a little tuning and maybe a few moderate performance upgrades down the road.

Welcome to the forum. I also had an s-series back in the day. I had a Sonoma with a 125 shot of nitrous. Man I miss that truck, but I dont miss all the money I spent on gas.

Loving my my new highway commuter car.

what supercharger did you go with on your jimmy?
Welcome to the forum from the one who has had probably the most Cruzes on this forum. I currently own my 3rd '14 and 4th '13 Cruzes. Only thing is mine were/are Gen 1s. Something about the Cruze I just like

Welcome. Also new here and also have the 2017 4dr LT sedan in white haha.

It's definitely "boring" performance wise compared to other cars like the 2017 Civic and Mazda 3 in the same segment that I test drove. However, one thing that I fell in love with vs the other 2 were the driving dynamics/comfort. The car is meant to be driven and lives up to the 'Cruze' moniker thus far. Something about how dang comfortable the seats and ergonomics were about the Cruze absolutely sold me. I take a lot of long roadtrips quite frequently, so this was a major selling point for me. I'm at 12k miles and couldn't be happier.

One thing I would like to add from my experiences so far, get rid of that Dexos oil crap ASAP. I put Amsoil Signature Series 5w-30 full synthetic in and what a difference! Also, the manual says 87 Octane, but car definitely drives and responds better with 89/91 Top Tier(Shell, BP, Chevron etc.) fuel. I'm usually against running premium gas as the benefit is non-noticeable. Not the case with this 2017 Cruze for whatever reason. Turbo maybe?

Hope you enjoy!

I'm curious. Can you be a little more specific about what difference do you see?
Most probably in the pcms programing. Havent look at the factory pcm tune yet but they all have separate timing tables for what octane gas. Higher octane and the pcm comands higher timibg which means more power.
I had a wynjammer for 5+ years on 2 different vehicles. A 00 blazer 4dr and 98 jimmy 2dr.
Had the 8-9 lb pulley. Before i retired it i couldnt get much more outta the jimmy because the IATs were ridiculously high and had to pull a lot of timing. I was in need of a water/meth kit bad. That was the only thing holding me back from getting the most out of the jammer.
This being my first turbo car im really lookibg forward with playing around with it. Besides tuning it im most interested in coverting it to flexfuel. I will not spend 400+ on a ready made kit and will be searching for info on making my own. A part# for the correct sensor i would need for the LE2 would get me started. After i make my own conversion kit ill start tuning. I have a sh!t ton of reseach and learning to do though and have yet to find much info out there.
I'd be leary adding any more HP to the LE2 with all the issues with piston cracking they've been having. The transmission (6T35 iirc) for me, has been wonky since I rolled it off the lot. Rough/hesitant shifts, slippage from time to time and aggressive downshifting at highway speeds (dropped down into 2nd at 65-70 MPH more than once when passing on HWY, scares the **** out of me when it does). Gets great gas mileage though lol

Smoother idle/acceleration, cooler operating temps and slightly improved gas mileage. Amsoil SS also protects and cleans better and longer than DEXOS.
