I'm a car/truck nut I've owned a bunch of them. I don't work on cars for a living but I do for fun. I'm replacing my very tired 2000 VW Beetle TDI (250000 mi) with a 2016 new body style Chrevolet Cruze. The car is on order and I don't know when it will come in. It is a L model I will use for work. I'm glad to be here and get some insight from my fellow members. This is my first new car at 47 years old lol.

I've always thought that used cars were fine.and they have been. I get paid from my company to drive and I don't want to have problems that cost me work. Plus it will be nice to drive one that the history is all mine. I'm still buying the cheapest model. My wife drives a Tahoe LTZ so it's not like we are doing without lol. I also have 4 other cars. This just for work.

Congrats how long did the dealer say it would take to get your new Cruze?

Did you consider getting a 1st generation off the lot first?

The dealer says about 6 more weeks I drove a first gen and it drove fine. I wanted the new one.

Ok the car finally came today. It drives very nice. It has great low in torque much like the TDI it has replaced. I've only driven it 30 miles but fuel mileage should easily exceed the ratings.

I'll be keeping track of both mileage and fuel in the tank. 13.7 gal I think on the fuel tank.
