Hi, I'm Mike. Tomorrow morning I'm picking up the check from the bank to go get my Cruze...won't take delivery until later in the week. i'm having the dealer do the protection package (interior, exterior, and underbody plus 3m clear bra).??

Coming from an 07 cobalt ls sedan...2.2 auto with a lot of work done to it in handling, performance, audio, and a little visually.

i'm not planning on going a whole lot right off the bat. i want to enjoy it and the fuel economy.

i'll plan on weathertech mats front and rear along with cargo, possibly the window vents as well. will get the windows tinted in the spring or summer...probably 20% maybe 30%...i only did 35% on my cobalt. will get overlays for the bowties.... not sure if i want to debadge the cruze and lt lettering or not. also planning on summer wheels, but not right away...i like the asa gt08's along with 2lt and ltz wheels. might get them powder coated...not sure what color though.

i'm going to wait a while before trifecta tune and any other performance. same with suspension.

audio will probably be the main focus to start with...xr's fiberglass box with my 10w3v3 and alpine amp...also the minidsp. later i'll look into a better sq/sql setup. but since i already have the sub/amp from the Cobalt.

A little about me...I'm 30, single dad, and love cars, video games, and of course my son. He's five and I try to include him in all the stuff I do. He also plays soccer and hockey. Photography is another interest that I'm always trying to work on. I've got a 24 mile commute to work about 2/3 highway so I'm really looking forward to the new car for economy and comfort...plus all the amenities I didn't have before.

Love the Blue Ray... enjoy :) they are lovely cars. Driving without the tune now is much nicer than it was in my 12' but in no way compares to tuned. Different car completely. Regardless the stock tune on the 14's has come a long way in my mind. The tech is nice, though I couldn't justify the price increase for the touch screen, no matter how cool it looks and how jealous I get of seeing how cool they look. Really upset no more RS package avail for 1LT (in 12, no 1/2 LT only "LT" which allowed for add of leather or RS to make equivalent of 2LT) because THAT I would have gotten.... regardless, pics when possible, and get on that tune! Sigh, too late for ranting, sorry.

Short version: Tune good... waiting bad. Cruze good, you will be pleased.

Welcome to the forums! When you say add protection exterior and underbody are you referring to rust proofing the car? How much does this add to your car price when fan dangled into the financing and interest on the loan?

Actually, I worked it so that it was paid for separately and not part of the loan. It was a $1499 package plus tax. My loan is for only $15,000. The price of everything added up was $21,019. But like I said, I bought the car, then added the protection package and paid for that separately.

And yes, it's the "rust proofing" essentially for the body/underbody and the interior protection is similar to Scotchgard, but it's a one time application for everything, once it's done, I only need to bring it in if there's a problem they need to fix. That means if something happens to the upholstery and I tear it, or it gets burnt (not sure how...I don't smoke), or something else happens to it, I take it to the dealer, they will fix/replace any damage. I don't remember off hand how long it covers...part of the coverage is 7 years and part of the coverage is 10 years...I believe the interior of the car is 7 and exterior is 10.
