I hear you guys saying before that the latest flash makes it harder to throw a p0299 code for pivot wear, but what is the new Spec? I checked mine today and it was about .035 of play, seems quit a bit of slop but car running ok...

I do not know what the number is, but a quick search shows very rare cases where this problem solved with something other than a turbo replacement. IIRC I saw the number posted by gmmastertech and thought it was tragically low (something like .027"), but it is what it is. I guess other possibilities are Mass air flow or something else.
