Hi, my name is Mike and I just purchased my new '17 Cruze LT a few days ago. I've already began the simple mods. I've replace the goofy stock air filter with an AEM dryflow filter in the stock airbox. Next will be fabricating my own 3" OD mandrel bent short ram intake using my AEM dryflow filter. I may make my own catless downpipe and mid-pipe once hptuners price for unlocking the computer goes down and I can tune it.

The previous pics were me trying to show that the stupid pinstripe that the dealership puts on every vehicle was removed and now looks much better! lol I feel I need to upgrade to the 18" wheels To make the exterior pop and possibly the gm accessories sport spoiler. A lowered stance and window tint also on the to-do list.

When I ordered mine I told my salesmen not to even think about putting any dealer Logos on it.

Yeah I just purchased mine from their lot since they were having a sale.
Nice car. My 2014 CTD is a the dealer now getting repaired. They gave me one very similar to yours as a loaner. LT, same color, same wheels. My only gripe with the car is the ugly instrument cluster.
Welcome.

Curious - from your username, what 5 cyl did you come from - Volvo or VW?
Welcome to the forums, AEM filter looks like a good choice compared to the paper element. When you decide to tackle the CAI/SRI, make sure the inner diameter is the same as the maf housing. If you can find a 2nd airbox like I did on my 1st gen, that would give you the maf housing to cut and put inline to eliminate any fuel trim errors or turbulence.

I had my dealer remove them before I signed any papers in the finance dept. Wish I had them pull the words "Cruze Eco" since they ended up coming off days after.

This last car wasn't on their lot long enough to litter with stickers and they transferred my plates, plate covers, and frame from my old car instead of sneaking theirs in for that last attempt to market the car. W/o transferring the plates, I would have ended up with the MCH XXXX plates telling the locals where I got the car.

Here is an example of how our dealers here litter the car with dealer stuff. Swap "JAY" with "MCH" and that could have been me.

Haha I completely forgot GM tried their hand at an I5. That's a pretty sweet set-up.

It was supposed to get the 4.2l I6 from the trailblazer but it was too long for the Colorado engine bay. They just lobbed off a cylinder and that's how the 3500 I5 was created in a ideological sense. Then the power output was less than desirable so they made the bore larger, went with more aggressive cams, bigger combustion chamber, and a much better flowing head in '07 bumping displacement to 3.7L. In 2008 they changed the pistions it increase compression to 10.5:1. It's an awesome platform and runs very well especially with boost.

If you keep the original pipes for future smogs or just get dirty smog, I would say a 3" straight pipe would do you well. The smell form an exhaust with no cat will bother you but one solid pipe straight out the back with no welds will produce a nice sound on top of the performance. Plus a 300 dollar exhaust would be a lot better than an 800 dollar cat back. I'm not a fan of the cat back sound and the magnaflows give you the same drony noise you don't wanna have. My 3" pipe isn't too loud so I'm not getting pulled over for it as long as I'm not stepping on it in front of the cops. Plus it won't sound like a ricer. You wont get that deep tone because of the engine size but you'll be satisfied
18" wheels and wheel spacers would make the gen 2 cruze look much better

If the wheels have the proper offset, you wouldn't need spacers.

Well yeah of course, but not everyone realizes that haha. Glad you do!
I'll be changing the shift points because it needs it.

Update. Gm performance exhaust with gutted cats. Im modifying my custom catless downpipe to make a tighter seal at the v-band and lip for the bottom flange to center the tube to the stock mid-pipe. I'm also welding in a straight tube in place of the second cat with a Helmholtz resonator for sound quality.
