Bought a 2012 RS off my nephew as he got a new Mustang and figured I did all the work to it so I know all the normal coolant issues were fixed right along with a new intake that I ported. I am taking a different route on this car as my other RS is pristine. This has a few dings but no rust with great paint but I want to go down the performance mod route on this car.

My first mod was a downpipe, got a good deal on FB for one, second was a new intercooler that was for front instead of wedged in middle. While doing this, I noticed bumper tabs were more or less done so I ordered a new bumper. Instead of the RS bumper I put the standard bumper on as I think it’s less restrictive for cold air. I added fogs with factory set up and switch as well as blacked chrome out on grilles and belt moldings. Found a nice spoiler less trunk and non RS rear bumper in same color for next to nothing as well as a complete interior with Charcoal and Brick. I left rocker moldings on because I love the RS look but wanted to do something totally different. I never thought I’d be changing bumpers out on an RS but like I said this is going to be something different for sake of it, so to speak.

Now I’m ready to tune and I’ve stated this before I am new to tuning. I found a BNR Autocal for 50.00 that’s married to a VIN; is it worth buying? I know I can get a license added but I really do not know where I’d go next? EFI Live, BNR??? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as this car really runs great considering it has not been tuned. I put an O2 Spacer on the down flow sensor and no CEL. You cannot get any feedback on any of the FB pages without the keyboard warriors making their smart a$$ remarks about building a slow Cruze, whatever.

That's the truth about Facebook or so I've heard. I'm not BNR tuned but I know a used Autocal is worthless for calibration flashing unless the tuner makes a calibration for your particular vehicle. You probably could use it as a scantool and data logging though.

Kinda was what I figured. I’ve got a good OBD scanner so I would be basically throwing 50.00 out the window. Probably going with BNR as their support was super quick in replying back to me with questions I had. I just want to get rid of throttle lag and get shift points adjusted to mods already on car. Thanks for reply👍
