The Chevy Volt has an operating mode where it cycles its gas engine when it gets really cold. I have mine set to do this below 15 F. This morning it was 5 when I left for work. I had to stop to drop off library books and when I got out I got a whif of the exhaust. Gasoline exhaust stinks. I'm hoping full BEVs are cheap enough and the charging infrastructure is robust enough so that when I go to replace my Volt I have decent choices for a full EV.

Sell me your Volt? You've known me a long time, perhaps you could take a CRUZE trade, only 24000 miles & fully covered with the GMPP for the next 15 month or 50 thousand miles? All I need is a great price and let me benefit with the Federal and State Tax breaks you qualified for. I'm not sure where I could plug it in, my Apartment has a small Solar farm, I could talk to my manager, he's nice, I know he'll say no

Not selling my Volt until the wheels fall off. This is why I figure there'll be choices in the BEV market that I can pick from.

And hopefully an infrastructure that can handle it.
