Article says it's a 2.0 but doesn't identify the design or source.

This is all I can find on it, It seems a different engine to the one in my Cruze though. A little less power and torque, mine has 120kw and 360nm of torque.

2013 V300 Holden Malibu Product Information
Okay - the 2.0 is listed as coming from Kaiserslautern where the north Amercian 2.0 RPO LUZ engine is also built. So these are the same VM Motori design - just with different emissions packages.

I would love to see a new body Malibu with the current 2.0. That would be a slam dunk of a car.

To be honest with you, I think it might happen.

A hunch, or have you heard some inside chatter?
More than a hunch.

1) A 1.6 and 2.0 whisper diesel are being built today in Kaiserslautern.

2) The 1.6 has been certified for North America.

3) The work to certify the 2.0 is a virtual cut and paste of the 1.6.

4) The 1.6 is going in the new lighter Cruze.

5) Where will the 2.0 go? I'm guessing either a Chevy only platform (Malibu) or shared Chevy/GMC platform (Equinox/Terrain). I don't think it will go to Buick or Cadillac because of a lack of experienced diesel technicians at the dealer level.
