Hi everyone, I was just curious what this is under the hood in my 2012 Chevy Cruze LT 1.4L. It seems like it’s full of leaves and debris and I was hoping to clean it out. Thanks! P.S. sorry if this isn’t the correct thread to post on I wasn’t sure which would be best

That the cowle drain. Definitely needs cleaned out. That's where all the water drains out during rain storms, car washes etc.

That's the cowl drain. I took that flapper lid off of mine soon after I got my cruze. That lid acts as a seal from engine compartment but I've never had any ill smells from it being removed. No clogs ever either.

They're correct drain for the cowl. Just lift the lid up and pull out the crud.

Yeah mine always gets clogged due to a tree in front of my house might do what was stated above and just remove the lid
