Note 5 drops Bluetooth Connected to myLink

My audio setup is quite simple- I listen to either XM radio or to my Google Music on my Note 5 phone via bluetooth. One annoying thing that keeps happening with the phone, however, is that upon the receipt of multiple incoming texts, it will drop the connectivity to myLink. The phone will show "nothing connected" when I check on the bluetooth status. It will either fix itself in 10-20 seconds, or I will have to manually reconnect it to the car. This has happened several times when I was linked up to my friend's Ford Fiesta, which has the crappy Sync system in it.

Any thoughts or tricks on how to fix it? It is now isolated to whenever texts come to the phone- they arrive, and after about 2 seconds, the phone will drop connectivity.

Sounds like a problem with your Note. Do you have something else connected to it? Perhaps something that's supposed to display messages? Like a smart watch?
Nothing else is connected to the phone, and it's just a stock AT&T Note 5. Sure is an annoying problem.
