I just saw this article on Tech Crunch. Thought it was interesting. The battery only weighs 6 lbs. It uses a supercapacitor combined with LiFePO4 batteries. It only has 10 amp hours though. But it could be interesting for those trying to reduce weight in their Cruze. And no more lead-acid.

Interesting, When I had my ECO I thought about getting a Braile battery, I think they were about 15lbs. The comment about the Ohm battery shutting off if you run your car stereo or leave your lights was interesting. My 320i does that from the factory. If you shut the engine off you maybe get 5 mins of listening to music. I asked the dealer about that annoying feature and was told it is meant to preserve the battery.

Well, the Cruze has a similar feature. But I think if the battery itself does the cut off, there goes all your memories, the car having to relearn your driving, etc.

I think that would get old fast.
