Well it was my turn for the PCV valve issue.
Car is just under 80K, started whistling and throwing the associated codes.
It really the worst possible timing for me.
My wife's car is in pieces as I'm doing the clutch, struts and and any worn bushing etc in the front end.
Just bought a house that needed some plumbing, electrical and general painting and decorating.
Really not in a place to have just my 20 year old S10 on the road.
All that being said my plan was to swap the valve cover and kick fixing the intake manifold down the road a few thousand miles.
Unfortunately when removing the sparkplugs i found #1 and #4 were soaked in (nice clean) oil.
I want ahead and ordered the check valve kit as I've seen on it stated several times here that it can cause oil to leak from every orifice
So aside from a failed gasket and/or the check valve is there anything else that could cause the oil seepage?
Also the OEM valve cover did not come with a gasket, but it is available to purchase.
It this a case where it is needed/strongly recommended or is it ok to just use RTV?
