Oil leak

Hi so I am new to the forum. I just recently purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco 1.4L Turbo with 56000 miles. I noticed while doing an oil change that the oil pan was soaked in oil. I cleaned the pan and continued to look around too see what was leaking and noticed oil coated all along the passenger side of the engine. I did see that the camshaft actuator seals were leaking which I will be replacing next week. The oil runs all the way down and around the crank pully. Not sure if there is another leak somewhere. I took some pictures of the general area. Any suggestions about what or where it could be coming from or cleaning the area without damaging anything? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Dan

I believe that's covered under the powertrain warranty.

Looks like I see a drop of coolant too in your first picture. Have them replace your water pump too I bet it is leaking.

Thanks man! I appreciate it! I'm going to call tomorrow to set up an appointment with the dealer.
Looks like my problem as well. 2012 Eco 77k miles. Noticed the caked on oil when I changed my serpentine belt yesterday. I mostly see it around the water pump pulley but it has no coolant odor, just black oil with dirt mixed in. Going on a 1500 mile trip this weekend. Fingers crossed. Will bring it to dealer next week.

Hi there JeffBazell,

We regret to hear about this oil concern with your Cruze, I understand how inconvenient this is with the holiday weekend coming up. If you would like any assistance in setting up a diagnosis at the dealership, please let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Have a great weekend!

My guess would be water pump is leaking

Well from experience of noticing oil soaked all over the oil pan, was due to leak from turbo return line. So possibility the return line on the turbo is leaking?.
Forgot to mention it, for the benefit of Cruze skeptics: My 1700 mile round trip from Chicago to New Jersey went off without a hitch. Despite an as-yet undiagnosed oil leak near the water pump, the 2012 Eco Auto with 79k miles handled and drove beautifully, there and back. A/C was nice and cold, handling was Cruze-like (which is great), still no need for new brakes (per my dealer), all in all a very pleasant ride. I would definitely tell friends or family that Cruze is a great car. Heck, even my WWII Decorated Pilot Uncle that I visited owns one!!!!!

Done. All repaired under warranty. I had 4 oil leaks. Oil pan was the worst. Changed oil pan and put fresh GMS (sealant). Camshaft actuators both leaking oil. New sealant there too. Valve cover leaking oil. New sealant put there too. O-ring on turbo cooler oil line was leaking. New line installed. Hit 80K miles on way home from dealer. I feel like I have a new car again. PS: My '12 Eco is smoother and quieter on the road than the '16 LT they loaned me.

Excellent. I've noticed the Eco are very quiet on the road, despite not having as much noise insulation.
Hello.
I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze LT, love it.. has only 23K miles.
Just had an oil change on it, I was told that there is an oil leak, mix water and oil,
Is this covered by PowerTran,?, Can this be fixed at any Chevy dealers, or it has to be done at special Chevy dealer?
Thank you
