Hi all , I am having an issue with an oil leak on a 1.4 turbo. Firstly I thought it was the Front crank case seal, as oil was on the chassis under the crank shaft pulley etc and I thought it was being flicked up with the belt, but I replaced that and now looking even deeper it looks like oil is leaking around where the water pump is situated. I cant see any oil coming from the cam cover etc and I did the gasket on it a while ago anyway. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be ??. Can a water pump cause an oil leak ?? as this looks like this to me. There is no oil in the coolant .

TIA

No, a water pump would have nothing to do with a oil leak.

Most likely, the cam phazer (I think I got the nomenclature correct) seals just above the pump are the source......several members have had leakage there.

Yep. Replaced mine at around 60k. Cured the issue. Inexpensive and easy to replace.
