I'm parting out a 2011 cruze LT that was hit in the front drivers side, but I'm keeping the motor and trans to swap into something else. What other cars use the 1.8 ecoboost motor? What about the automatic transmission? Thanks a lot for any help! And send me a message if you need a part!

The lower end Sonic trims used the 1.8 as well. That's all I can think of though.

A Cruze LT would have the 1.4L turbo engine. (Sonic, Buick Encore, Chevrolet Trax). 1.8 was only in US LS trims.
Good catch. The LS had the 1.8 but the LT, ECO, and LTZ used the 1.4T

Yea, when I saw the title then the LT, I thought the same thing and if you had not said something I may have but I was busy trying to "pump some iron" at the local health club

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure where I got got LT from. I just checked the car, and is is an LS with the 1.8 engine. I was reading that it's possible to swap the 1.8 into an 09 or newer Aveo, but can't find anyone that has actually done it.

It's in the same family as the 1.6 - very close.

But then you'd still be driving an Aveo, with slightly more, but still not much power.

On the other hand, most Sonics are 1.8L. Rare for the engines to blow up, but you might find someone that wants one.

Yes, VERY true. They are ugly little things. But if I can get one for cheap, and the swap works, then it's worth the trouble. Plus, the aveos are roughly 500 pounds lighter than the cruzes, and the 1.8 makes roughly 30 HP more than the aveo motor, so it could end up being pretty peppy.

Assuming you could make the computers happy. I'm not sure as the Aveo ECU is going to be happy with a 1.8. And I don't know as you'd make the 1.8 ECU and Aveo electronics happy with each other.

I'd certainly suggest lining up the software people before putting any money into the idea.

The Saturn Astra used the 1.8L as well. The same engine, I believe.
