Our SQ Comp Build

Hello,

First port here.

I am an SPL competitor and car audio business owner. My wife and I have decided to convert our Cruze LTZ RS into an SQ car for the competition circuit this coming 2018 season.

In doing so, we hope to do big things. Our goal is Finals and taking home at least one of the top 3 places in our class.

Our SPL car (2007 Toyota Matrix) took home a 3rd and 1st place trophy with a score of 150.8 decibels at 3,300 watts. Not very impressive, but with the time spent, not so bad either. We will continue to build and test with the Toyota while at the same time, we will build the SQ Cruze.

The goal: Make it to 2018 Finals and secure 1st, but 2nd and 3rd aren't bad either.

Power: XS Power AGM and 500 Farad Cap Bank
Alternator: Ohio Generator 300 Amp
Wires: Sky High Car Audio
Head Unit: Factory 6 Speaker W/ Tweeters, Front Door, Rear Door.
Signal Processor: Between 360.3, JL Fix and Tweak or Bit 10.
Amplifier: Crossfire, McIntosh MC440
Speakers: Focal K2 Power 6.5, 1, and 3.5. Low End JL 6.5 for rear fill (Mutable)

How much was the Ohio Generator 300A alternator? Did they have to custom build it for you?
Nice to see another competitor, I do SPL in my Cruze.

I'm fine on the SQ thread. It does have some helpful information, but I don't like to bandwagon. So I will be going at it in a fresh way. I will edit my original post with our current equipment list.

Edit: I cannot edit my OP... Well that sucks.

I am working on that at the moment. It'll possibly be around the $500 range. He even has a 300A for my 07 Matrix. Astonishing as that is.

I see you are in Indiana. We're located in Illinois. I may have seen you or met you if you do SPL.

I also own Class Act Audio, we make the Mikro 2 signal attenuators. I'm sure you've heard of that.

As it seems you cannot edit your posts after a certain time limit, I'll edit this last post to include as much information as possible on the SQ build.

We have acquired the speakers and amplifiers we are using for sure.

Speakers:

Front Stage: Focal ES 165KX2
Rear Fill: Focal ES 165KX2
Front Stage Amp: Alpine PDX 4.500
Fill Amp: Alpine PDX 2.250
Low Amp: Alpine PDX 1.1000

Not solid on a DSP yet, nor am I solid on speaker placement. To mitigate out of phase areas on the front stage, I was thinking of kick panel location. But we will see.
