p0171 P1011 Rough Idle when Temps below freezing. HELP

2885 Views 8 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  mikestony
2011 chevy cruze eco 135,000 milesSo I took my car to the shop and got a smoke test for the p0171 code and +22 LTFT, They found the PCV leaking. My wife went and told them to replace it ( I was sleeping SMH) well $270 later. (it makes me sick over a $48 part I could of did in my sleep). I get the car back. I drive it home around 45 Degrees out, LTFT is staying around 0 to +7. I start it after work, Temps in the 20s it idles like crap, and almost stalls twice. LTFT was at +32 and a pending p0171 code. Drove it home, LTFT was staying around +7, idle after warm up around +6. Got home, tried to see if there was another air leak, I cant find one, after messing around it set of a p1011 code, Im not sure if it was from me. It set off that code once before, but when I reset it it never came back just the p0171. Does anyone know correct MAF readings on the cruze? And any ideas on my Rough idle only on a Very cold temp start, and high LTFT still after pcv was changed?PS Manisfold does have the orange check valve present.

Anything that sticks out besides fuel trim?
P0171 was set
Fuel pressure seems a little high, but then again it appears the throttle was at 50%.

I'm guessing a vacuum leak somewhere. Maybe smoke machine it? (side note, I'm chasing an unusually high LTFT myself and am in the process of making a homemade smoke machine :D )
How are you making it? I Tried with a hose and a Cigar ( Its rough living in an apartment) But I couldn't see anything. But I did enjoy the cigar. :)Fuel Pressure is around 48 most of the time. I must of been going up a hill on the highway when it actually set.

I'm making it out of an empty paint can following the instructions from here:
Make Your Own Smoke Machine - E46Fanatics

with some slight changes :)
There are also many YouTube videos about it too.

Fuel pressure is the same for me too.
Well if I don't get to it until I go back home, let me know what is leaking on your car.
