2011 with 1.8. Dash showed AC shut off due to high engine temp. No check engine light. Radiator fan not running and temp gauge not working. Went another 12 miles with no problem. Checked codes anyway and PO128 was stored. Anybody experience this?

Some have had the warning.....all had a cooling problem, AKA very low coolant.

If the temp gauge had no reading that means the coolant is so low the sensor is not immersed.....hence, no reading.......they's a hole in the bucket somewhere.

Coolant level in reservoir ok, engine did not overheat.

In that case I'd guess a faulty thermostat. The thermostat is covered under the power train warranty.
