I own a 2011 cruze lt.

I got a recall from gm to up date my on board computer or emc module.
I took into the dealer and had it done.

I now have cruze that eats gas.
I lost any where from 15 to 20 percent of my gas mileage.
I could get from 7 to 8 lt in city driving. It now runs from 15 and up.
Has any one had the same problem ????

How is the engine performance compared to how it was before you had this reflash? Still running smooth, good acceleration?

My mileage went up after the emissions recall. So far since May when I had it done I have put a bit over 12,000 miles on my car and picked up 1-2MPG over my 3 year average over the same months. Only thing that has dropped my MPG recently is winter gas and slightly cooler temperatures.

Mine is running hotter then before flash and had water outlet replaced due to leak, scan gauge says 219 to 228 on highway 70MPH cool temps NJ. Was 211 to 217 at 70. Full coolant tank fan comes on at 230 seen it as hot as 237 fan steps up to med speed. Who knows just frustrated about it. 2011 LTZ 1.4 Auto. 74000 miles.

Goodbye summer, winter is back as is winter gas, 15-20% fuel mileage reduction is common, not only in the Cruze, but in all vehicles.

Would be nice if the OP posted his location, not really much of a problem in warmer climates.

OP is in Scarborough, Ontario based on the posting IP. Temps did indeed drop recently. My question is when did you have this done?

My 2012 ECO MT runs anywhere from 190 to 230 depending on load. At steady speed on the interstate it tends to stay in the upper 220s.

Something is different about the winter blend here. Normally, this car loses about 2 -3 mpg when winter blend hits the tanks. This year, it's down 4 - 5 mpg. Not sure what it's about. It's been warmer here than normal, but I'm not sure that could be it.

I'm curious if you are gauging your lost economy on what the car is telling you or the actual math of miles/gallons when you fill up. Because (just theorizing) maybe the computer is simply calculating your economy differently (more accurately)....my 2015 is awfully generous to it's reported MPG compared to what I see at the pump.
