Ha, at this rate, would just need the primary, forget about the general election.

Aren't there at least two Democrats declared - Hillary and the guy from West Virginia.

Also, I have reason to believe Donald "You're Fired" Trump will be declaring as a Republican later this month.

There is only one real candidate and that is Bernie Sanders. All the others are corporate puppets.

Which of course, would be a huge improvement on what we have now, whatever you call it.
A socialist would be a huge improvement? You do realize you're in the USA, right? Not mid 1900s Hungary.

Why are people so obsessed with establishment politicians and "corporate sell-outs" that they are willing to scrap the entire constitution and obliterate freedom and opportunity?

Obama is the farthest left we've had as a president in the long time. Bernie Sanders is so far extreme to the left that even Democrats don't want him. Bernie wants America to be more like Greece, because that's working out so well for them. He supports huge tariffs, and isn't opposed to the idea of a 90% income tax rate. The man is a spitting image of Karl Marx. How in the world is this better than what we have now? Please, explain it to me. Our country is being destroyed from the inside out and you are proposing we just cut to the chase and shoot ourselves. He is fundamentally incompatible with the principles that made this country great in the first place.

First, I'd like to know what great country you think we are actually in? There is nothing great whatsoever about our government. If it were still a democracy I might have a hope of something. What we have now is a group of politicians, who get in because your vote is paid for. We don't need leaders that cater to money, we need ones that care about the people they represent. I don't expect you to understand as this is all you have experienced in your short lifetime so it is all you know. I love this country, I love the people I am around everyday. I am tired of watching people struggle through life because all that is important to Wash is Greed. Not too long ago we had a representative take the floor to ask why he hadn't received his bribe yet....

We are not a democracy. You see, if we were a democracy, we'd be a socialist by now because people would have voted themselves other peoples' money like they have in every other country in the world. No, we are a constitutional republic. Our government may not be the greatest, but you won't find as much freedom, opportunity, and financial liberty anywhere else in the world, and if you think you will, I dare you to move and let me know how it is.

What have I experienced? I was born in Romania when it was a communist country. I know exactly what socialism looks like because I've talked to those who grew up in other socialist countries as well.

If I'm not succeeding in life, it is nobody's fault but my own, and that's the greatest thing about this country. We can get into a discussion of poverty and how it is not a financial problem, but that's another thread for another day. My father moved here in 1989 and my mother, sister, and I came in 1991. Dirt poor, we achieved the American dream, and I'm not even 30 yet and I have a decent house not even 50 years old on 1/2 an acre and my wife is a stay at home mom. I didn't ask for government assistance, I didn't ask for help from anyone, and I got here through hard work. I refuse to believe others can't do the same.

Yeah, we do need ones that care about the people they represent, but we also need ones that love this country for what it stands for and respect the constitution. Improve it, not destroy it. Socialism is a blatant assault on American principles, and Bernie is a flagrant socialist.

I love the phrase for some reason it almost sounds like a your blowing the whistle on him because he fouled ...
As screwed up and corrupt as our govt is we have it pretty f-ing good here. Sure we have a ton of things to improve and we should (as in all the people) strive to progress to make it better and better. At the current moment we have things going in opposite directions are liberties are being quickly taken away while at the same we are moving forward in advances in medical sciences that almost everyone can benefit from. Our military is a never ending advancing system yet on the other side of the coin is encroaching on its own citizens as well as over stepping its boundrys of human decency on citizens of other nations. We still focus on the middle east while Africa is beyond screwed yet we do nothing there but fund local war lords as puppets for petty localized interests. If we could get the good from both sides of the coin and just focus on that rather than political banter we could be more proud as an American and more importantly as a human being.

Completely false statement. It might be true if everyone was treated fairly and had the same shot at happiness in this country. If you really think the 5 year old in Detroit has the same path to success as those born into wealth, you are more ignorant than I give you credit for.

I was born in to parents that were drug addicts and heavy alcoholics, my mom died when I was 13 and my dad was in jail I worked 30 hours a week while going to school at 13 to pay the bills. I grew up in inner city baltimore. At 14 I had my own room I rented when I emancipated. I graduated now have a job a wife and a house and 2 cars. You have the choice to what you can become. Everyone has the same shot just the paths are easier or harder in this country.

You are a great example then. It should not have been that way for you or anyone else. Rather than sit on your laurels as to what you did, how about making it fair for others. I have a similar story as well, and many more to come will have that same sad story. It does not have to be that way and shouldn't. Rather than saying "I did it so everyone else should suffer through it too", maybe you should be thinking how can I help? You and I are more of an exception to the rule than the standard. We have one and only one life to life, rather than working two jobs and working yourself ragged just to stay even, wouldn't you rather enjoy and cherish your time here? Times need to change. This system does not work for the majority.

I have clocked about 15000 hours in community service. I have worked on reservations, I work at the frederick rescue mission monthly and I cant even tell you how many fund raiser I have done, I was a part of habitat for humanity and I was a big brother until they shut it down though I am still a mentor for Marcus, I also have countless hours in geriatric care from several different elderly homes and I also volunteer for hospice . . I do a ton I do as much as I can for more than just myself. So dont be so quick to say "Rather than sit on your laurels as to what you did, how about making it fair for others".

I do agree with you that it should be fair and from an idealistic standpoint a truly marxist society sounds fantastical but it will always be flawed as long as it is run by humans since we have emotions such as greed and eagerness to be better than our neighbors. I wish it was perfect but it is not. Can we make it better **** yea

Indeed, you will never find something that is perfect. But should we continue to keep electing those that we KNOW have their hands in the cookie jar, accepting bribes from big industry? Those that have the media at their disposal to keep you misinformed enough to vote for the lesser of evils? It's a race between a Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich most of the time - thx SP! I am done voting for those that favor money over humanity.
