The grey colored foam attached to the bottom of the cowl inside the engine compartment was coming lose. I reapplied it using 3m trim adhesive where it was falling down. What is the purpose of this? Is it just for coolant odors, or even s it for much more?

It's the same foam gasket virtually visible in everyones engine bay. It was pointed out in the coolant odor thread where some had visible gaps in it near the coolant reservoir causing smell. I just was wondering was it for more that just that. It doesn't hold anything together at all, just fills a gap between the cowl and body of car in engine bay.

I get so giddy inside when the new Malibu commercial comes on. Each time they show the "it has Apple CarPlay" part I say, "been there done that!" Lol. People who have spent the last year in my Cruze are really confused when they see that commercial because it's toting it as something new, but they recalled I have had it over a year. Lol
