I have given up trying to find some LED headlamps for my GEN I Cruze and decided to look at the dual Winjets.

1. After having them for awhile, what do you like about them

2. What do you not like about them?

3. Were they difficult to install?

4. Was there anything you wished you did prior to installing them?

5. Would you buy them again?

6. Is there anything I didn't ask about you think I should know prior to buying them?

Thanks for your input.

1. After having them for awhile, what do you like about them
Looks, function, style, High-beam operation (all four come on AND the low beam projectors are motorized to adjust upward for "high-beam"), they're the brightest high-beam operation I've ever experienced on any car.

2. What do you not like about them?
Not exact specs to OEM dimensions, but still ok. DRL could be a little brighter.

3. Were they difficult to install?
Nope...aside from having to remove the bumper cover to access the mounts, but that's pretty easy just tedious.

4. Was there anything you wished you did prior to installing them?
Add HID system. Although, I did install HID's a week later and had to remove the front bumper again...oh well. Highly recommend adding the HID 6000k A/C conversion kit with the relay harness.

5. Would you buy them again?
For the money, yes. They have been working beautifully for me and work great with HID's.

6. Is there anything I didn't ask about you think I should know prior to buying them?
There is a separate power wire they provide for optional DRL operation. When I applied power to this wire, it backfed through the running lights. If you can figure out a way to make that work with the Cruze DRL and NOT have the headlights come on, that would be awesome. I was in a hurry to get it together and never did figure this part out since our factory DRL circuit is coming from the computer straight through the headlight wiring. I thought of using relays, but haven't gotten that far into it yet.

Thanks for your input.

Don't do it. Do a retro and youll have 10x the output a winjet set can provide even with HIDs (Which winjet does not recommend, btw...they void any warranty if you run HIDs in them). I had Evolution Autowerks do my retro and I couldn't be happier. Blows any other headlight out of the water with my setup.

Yes it did. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. As for the DRL's, depends on the year of your vehicle. Mine as well as yours based on what you wrote uses a modulated pulse to lower the output of the headlamps so they can be used as DRLs without sacrificing longevity too much. I think it would take an intelligent relay to be able to know when it was currently in diminished output mode and relay the signal to separate DRLs vs full output for normal headlamps.

You really didn't say what setup you have. do you have a link to post? One of the other reasons I have been considering Winjets are the looks of the dual lamps. on the Cruze.

There's no link to my setup as its custom. Im running aftermarket housings with "G5" projectors, Phillips Extreme Vision 2 bulbs with Hylux ballasts and Morimoto dual relay harness. Evolution Autowerks on facebook should have pics of similar installs, but my setup was the first cruze with those projectors....theyre the main cruze retrofitter out there.

I'm not going to contest what you're saying, and it looks like a nice headlight btw, but I'm not sure how you're saying "10x the output". Output to me would be from the type of bulb you use (Halogen vs HID vs LED/35w vs 55w vs 75w/3200LM vs 3400LM vs 5400LM etc.). I have the 55w AC HID w/relay kit which light up the night way better than factory halogens. Now multiply that by 10, I'm not sure how that would even be legal as it would be getting into the off-road use category at that point.

Just to give an idea of how the light pattern of the WinJet looks on a wall
Light Sky Night Lighting Atmosphere

Highbeam...

Light Darkness Atmospheric phenomenon Atmosphere Sky

Excuse the fact that I'm not really sitting in a straight and level shot from my parking lot at work.

its not a scientifically proven statement..jesus..don't take it so seriously. My setup does blow any winjet combination out of the water though. Output doesn't only rely on the bulb wattage. Type of bulb, brand of said type of bulb, lenses, ignitor and ballasts all play a role in output....not to mention the projector housing itself. Winjests (Not a type) look cool and have meh performance....once you drive with a proper retro, you wont want anything less.

youd be surprised at the difference. I had EA change out the projectors in my wife's 07 camry....halogen projectors with 35w HIDs was nice but swapping in Lexus RX330 HID projectors with smooth lenses made a HUGE difference. Still running 35w hids but instead of 9005 or 9006 (I don't remember the bulb size), she now runs D2S bulbs....it just blows it out of the water. You seem to be new to the retrofit world, do some research and youll become a believer once you see before and after pics.
