• Top Speed = 130 mph (electronically limited)
• Skidpad = 0.84 G
• Slalom = 67.3 mph
• Curb Weight = 3050 lbs.

...notice the "Skidpad" numbers: Eco without Z-link at 0.84 G versus LTZ with Z-link at 0.85 G -- that sorta says the Z-link isn't the major contributor to the Cruze's overall excellent handling!

I'm sure those other ones were not the Eco model. The Eco was introduced late, all the tests i've read about until now were other models. The Eco is about 150-250 lbs lighter than other models and has better aerodynamics, thats pretty substantial...

...sounds like the LS model with 1.8L engine and A6 transmission that C&D tested:

0-60 mph = 9.4 sec
¼-mile = 17.2 sec @ 82 mph

That article is from Feb. 2nd. I couldn't find anything on their site about the new review in May, likely won't be there until after the mag hits the shelves.

Nice to see a positive review, though! What I want to see is a magazine test putting all the new small cars together for a "fuel-off". Hopefully they include an LT/Z and an Eco Cruze in the test. Based on what I've read so far, the Eco should show its advantage in economy quite handily.

"Chevrolet predicts the longest zero-to-60 mph time for the turbo engine at 10 seconds in the manual Eco trim level, which is tuned for efficiency. Other versions shave another second or more".

Looks like the ECO is really underrated.

That LTZ review would have been for an automatic vs the 6MT for the eco.

From the butt-dynometer the 8 sec sounds about right for the 6mt and with putting on the injen this weekend it feels faster then that now.

Also now that my car is broken in I have taken it on some back roads, taken some hard corners kinda worked it a bit and it took it in stride. Its a **** fun car to whip around.

I thought i read somewhere the Eco had only a different 6th gear and 1-5 were the same as the other models? Anyone have this info on hand???

The M6 only comes in the Eco with the Turbo, you can't get it in the LT or LTZ variant, only the Automatics come in those models.

Oh wow, i had no idea the Eco was the only Cruze model offered with a manual trans. I guess I've been ignorant to the other models since the Eco was the only one i was interested in.

It's the only 1.4t with a manual. You can get an LS with a stick though as well

GM announced an optional 6speed stick (same/similar as the LS model) would be a rare option for 1.4t (probably by customer order only) but I still don't see it - wonder what happened? maybe 2012...
