Rack & pinion swap

Would like to swap the steering since this issue will more than likely continue even if i were to take it to the dealership for them to fix it but ive been driving it for about 2 years since the steering went out about 2 years ago the steering light came on & about 3/6 months into driving it like that that the light came off but the steering still works? but i was hoping that i would probably be able to maybe put a Subaru, Mitsubishi, or a Ford rack & pinion in! Bc the town i live in is overpriced in everything bc of the oil field?
