Plus id much rather have discs anyways due to parts labor is cheaper to work on them.
Lol, you'll change pads at least 3 times and probably rotors twice for every set of drums/shoes. It isn't cheaper at all. In all likelihood you will never have to do anything on the rear drums of your car except get them adjusted. That is A LOT of work/money just to be able to match some paint but if that is your flavor have at it. But don't dilute yourself into thinking it is "cheaper". Just doing the conversion will put you past a lifetime supply of shoes and drums let alone the maintenance of pads/rotors in the future.

edit: If you do decide to do it your first stop should be local junkyards and see if you can find a Z-link disc brake rear axle. If you are gonna do it may as well go all in and make it easy

That's the way I would do it to, you get a lot more for less money. Plus I think the Z-link is a more tangible gain than the rear disc conversion. This car just doesn't need the discs, the drums do just fine. I also like the pedal feel of the drums, it is easy to adjust the pedal up.

Yup, with as much braking as the rear brakes actually do if you are worried about fade work on the fronts.

It will void the warranty on your brake and ABS system though
