I am not understanding why anyone would have to pay for anything that is recalled ?

Did you have this done already? If so, you got ripped off. The lights on the dash are the classic symptom of the Negative Battery Cable warranty extension. The coil pack is about $120 for the pack and 15 minutes to replace.

When did you actually purchase your car? If it's been less than 36 months everything should have been free under the B2B warranty. If more than 36 months I would think the Power Train warranty would cover the coil pack. Please post an image of your service bill - something's confusing on this one.
2012 cruze running fine then one day a off due to high engine temp. Light went away, engine was fine. Now I'm stranded on the road en route to work due to an engine overheat. Warranty = expiration date of vehicle, too?!
Please help. It's our only vehicle in a loyal bow tie family.
