We are at almost $4 per gallon now in the bay area. Unbelievable. Oil companies are making a killing, and the government is raking it in with taxes as well, so they can all give themselves raises. Did you ever see the movie, Atlas Shrugged, where gas was $50 per gallon? We are on our way.

They are suggesting adding more tax to gas here as part of the idea to give teachers raises...they are paid the lowest in the nation so come April 2nd they are not teaching and protesting instead. If if the raise happens I'm glad I bought a gas saving Cruze to offset it as the teachers do deserve a raise.

They keep doing this and it never ends. First, they said we needed property taxes to pay for schools, police and fire departments. Then they added state and local income taxes to pay for schools. Then, they said we needed sales tax to pay for schools. Then, they said we needed car registration taxes and gas taxes to pay for these things. Then they add bond measures and parcel taxes. Then they added taxes and fees to electric, gas, water, phone and garbage. And they just keep adding more and increasing them endlessly. Despite all of this, every state still says they have the worst paid teachers in the country, and police and fire departments are underfunded, and the roads are the worst in the country, and on and on and on...
