Car Description:
2014 Chevy Cruze
Approx 56,000 miles
Symptoms:
Check Engine PO171 code
"Service Traction Control" will appear after the car has been on and running for a few minutes and stay on.
"Service Stabilitrack System" will appear sporadically.
Rough Idle - While stopped at red lights, the car will shake noticeably. When this is pronounced I'll notice the RPM bouncing up between just shy of 1000 and just over. Normal Idle since I got the car is just shy of 1000 which seems high to me anyway . . .
There is a constant high pitched noise coming from under the hood. It almost sounds like a bad belt; but doing some research I suspect it may be a whistle noise from a bad PVC valve?
Suspicions:
Doing some research on these symptoms, I suspect it could be a bad O2 sensor but perhaps more likely a bad PCV valve. However, before I go through the motions to see if that's covered under a power train warranty or fix and replace the part I was hoping somebody out there has had a similar experience and could help shed some light. Thanks in advance!
