Our 2011 Cruze LT/RS "Ruby" came home last thursday.

Love the car!!! My only complaint is the seats are hard as a freaking brick!!!

Does really well on the ice and in the snow. Had a blizzard the night before last and got 10+ inches of snow.

Coming home from work I didn't get stuck until I got just 20 feet from my driveway.

Took out the factory foglights and headlights. Put in Xenon/Krypton replacement bulbs from EuroDezigns.com (I'll post pics tomorrow of the difference between normal halogen and these Xenon/Krypton lights).

I also got rid of the factory air filter and put in a Drop-In K&N Performance Air Filter. Already have 492 miles on her. Her first oil change will be this friday. Nuttin' but Mobil 1 Synthetic for her.

THANKS!!!

She may not be the "Belle of the Ball" like my 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS is, but she turns a head or two when I take her places.
...looks like maybe you'll have to *change* Hobbs' yellow color to 'ruby red!

Congrats on the purchase! hope to get my Cruse here this summer, and i honestly think i'm going to jump ship on the Taupe Gray and get the Red w/RS. because that is a really nice looking car!

just make sure that the M1 you get is DEXOS1 approved... it's important.

Mobil 1 IS dexos1 approved. Read about it on the Mobil 1 website a few days ago.

I'ld say enjoy the car but I have a feeling you are. lol
I've got almost 500 miles on her so far. She's fun to drive and if it wasn't for being forced to work this weekend, I'd have nearly a thousand by Monday because of a road trip I had planned.

As far as Mobil 1 is concerned, I'm not too worried about it. I've been using it for 22 years and have never had a problem with it.

Mobil Synthetic oils have been used by the military for years and if it can handle the jet engines, HUMVEE's, Battletanks, etc. it can ANYTHING that little 1.4L Turbo can put out.

Also, since my 2011 Camaro 2SS, Corvettes, Porsches, Lamborghini's, etc. come from the factory with Mobil 1 Synthetic, I think it's OK to put it into a $21K car. What do you think? ;)

...dexos1™ is a "GM specification" for the oil, not the oil itself.

...it is GM's "push" into the 'future' for a single, worldwide (ie: global) type of oil that combines USA, european, asian and "other" petroleum requirements and specifications. GM wants to have/use just one, single, global, oil in all their different global engines and powerplants.

...as such, it is NOT the same as any U.S. MIL-SPEC nor current API specifications (although people are working on this issue)...it goes beyond them in many areas.

...it's GM's version of Microsoft's software--"...what you want it to work? use only dexos/microsoft programs..." (cough, cough)???

i think you'd have a problem with it if it voids your warranty...

If it's not DEXOS1 oil, it's got no business being in your engine. Doing otherwise will void your power train warranty.

fortunately, Mobil1 5w30 has been approved for the Dexos1 specification... not that I'm surprised (since Mobil has been working with GM for the last decade or so).
