Does anybody know what reasonably priced scanners will work with these cars to read data on the airbag system. I am repairing a wrecked 2012 cruze that has airbags deployed and am want to avoid paying someone else, if i can get a scanner for myself instead. Id like to see which crash sensors are set off, and I do understand the (sdm) airbag module needs to be reset or replaced. I have heard you can reset it with a high end unit, but i cant justify the cost. If you have experience in this area your help is appreciated.

Ive searched youtube but havent found if people have a scanner to read there codes or are just taking there cars in to the dealer. Im afraid if i take it into a dealer i will end up having to take it twice; once to see which crash sensors are set off and again after getting the affected sensors replaced. I would rather put that money into a scanner and have a tool to use if needed in the future. So far i have all replacement airbags except for one lower seat belt pretentioner from my parts car.

I do know someone has posted a launch. Crp129 will do it. Problem i see is most of this model of scanner on the net are a chinese version or clone that may or may not be updateable. And are not supported by launch tech usa. Ive emailed otc and autel about their scanners and am waiting for a reply.

The foxwell nt510 sounds like a good option if it lives up to what it claims. Will email them and see if the cruze is covered.

It was hit in the pass. Front corner. Needed front fender hood and bumper cover.for body parts. Was able to find cheap color matched parts and all my airbag parts except one seatbelt pretenssioner. - as far as i know, i havent had it plugged in to see if there are other faults in the srs system. Has a salvage title but its going to get plenty of miles soon as my other gas saver is getting tired. If this car can live half as trouble free as the 2001 civic its replacing ill be happy.
