Hello,
I have a 2011 Chevy Cruze I've owned for about 2 1/2 years now. I am going to sound extremely stupid as I know nothing about cars, but I am tired of feeling like I am being taken advantage of by the dealer because I am a young female. So I was going to see if anyone here has any insight into what might be going on with my car.
This morning the key fob wasn't working so I unlocked the car/started it the old fashioned way. I have a spare fob somewhere at home I was going to find later tonight to see if it works. but then about halfway through my commute the Service Tire Monitor System light started flashing. I went ahead and checked all of my tires and they are all at the correct pressure and filled up. The light comes on everytime I start the car. I have been reading up on what might cause this, and I haven't had any of my tires replaced or rotated recently like others who have had this warning appear.
So I am thinking there might be a correlation between the Key fob not working and the monitor warning? Like I said I may be way off base here and sound dumb. I was reading about a re-learning process for the tire monitors, is that worth a try? I am out of warranty so anything I can do at home for free is much more preferred as I have spent so much money on fixing this **** thing the whole time I have owned it.
Thank you!
