Shifting to 6 gear Cruze 2012 AT (6T40)

Hello. Today I noticed, that sometimes shifting from 5 to 6 gear happens on 4500-5000 RPM. I wonder if this is normal practice for the Cruze gearbox?

Well, that depends on how fast the car was accelerating. The transmission shift points adapt to how the car is driven. So, if you want to know how it really shifts you need to reset the TCM. If you disconnect the car battery for an hour, it will reset.

So it can be, because I accelerating too fast?
Too fast, to slow. It's all relative. If it is a smooth shift and the car isn't showing any warnings or codes, the transmission is probably working as it should.

If you are thinking it is not shifting right, I would first change out the transmission fliud. Check the car battery, and grounds. And as I've mentioned, reset the computer.
You'd have to be going around 100 mph for the shift from 5th to 6th to happen at 5000 RPM.

Knock the transmission over into "M" from "D" and it'll tell you what gear it's in.

If it shifts normally the rest of the time but hangs on to one gear for a long time, this can be a sign that a shift solenoid or something is sticky, which a trans fluid change could possibly help. Or you've just buried the gas pedal in the carpet ;)

yeah, it was near 90mph and it shifted at 4500-4700 RPM. Understood, it's okay for the gearbox. Thx
