say we may be getting a new 2012 eco cruze but if i do i want to have a spare key for the wallet just in case. i don't need to worry about the key will not start the car. if i need to use the key it means my real key is in the car and most likely in the ignition anyway. all i need is one to carry to open the doors. has anyone done this yet and where did you get the key cut? thanks. bp.

I haven't seen a valet style key for our cars. They have to exist but all I was able to find is a full fob/key. I was blown away at how cheap they are for our cars. I'm used to paying 200 and UP for the same style keys on other cars.

I bought a key fob for like $15 on eBay, took it to my favorite local locksmith, and had him cut it for $20. It was very easy to program - it took about 10 seconds.
