I've been really enjoying my system since installing it in 2018. I have no issues with it. I've since been more and more interested in the whole tuning process to the point where I've read through version 1 and 2 SQ threads again and I've been trying to learn how to use REW (Room Equalizer Wizard). Kind of like reverse engineering to figure all this out. After rereading the SQ version 2 thread I got the impression that the tune file was updated since the original one. I noticed the file has a different name to it than what I have saved to file. So I downloaded the file in post 2 of the version 2 thread. It has 110417.xml after the description of the file. I uploaded it to the 2 way advanced software and compared it to my original file and noticed a lot of differences with the filters and gain settings so I figured I would load it into the mini dsp thinking I was in for treat.
Like can it possibly get better?
I was surprised at how terrible it sounded. I thought surly I must have made an error and re loaded the file again a couple of times. Same deal. Terrible sound. So I reloaded my original tune and now back to heavenly sound.
I wanted to bring this up because I thought there might be an issue with the updated file that is in post 2 and that may be why there was a disgruntled member who was bagging on xtreme towards the end of that SQ version 2 thread.
If anyone is willing to download the current file to try, I would be interested in hearing their results.
Let me know.
Rich.
