I just bought a new 2018 Cruze. Doesn’t even have 3500 miles on it. At a stop, there is no noise, but about 10-20mph it starts. The faster I go after that, the faster it squeaks/chirps. It’s extremely annoying and i get weird looks from people all over the place. It’s literally new. First owner. Shouldn’t have any issues. I have an L model sedan. Factory everything, including wheel and tires with the steelies and hubcaps. I looked at the joints and nothing is wrong with them either. Help my out guys.

Guess that noise .... sounds like a wheel bearing or maybe you should make an apointment at yer nearest dealer and have the service writer test drive yer cruzen fer proof .. Good Luck ..........

Try taking off the hubcaps and see if it goes away.

No, it doesn’t change when I break. I’ll try taking the caps off.

Did you ever figure this sound out? I’ve taken mine to 2 dealers so far for the exact same sound. Only shows up during heavy exceleration or climbing a big hil. Dealer said was normal. Drove the tech in it too..

I would check the pulleys that the serpentine belt rides on. Does the noise reduce when you take your foot off the accelerator? If so, I would for sure check the belt pulleys.

I took it to the dealership, and they said the dust caps may be the problem. They said they cleaned them, but a few days later, it started squeaking again. I’m not fully sure, but I may take it back again. I’ll keep you updated.

No, it’s purely based on the rotation speed of the front wheels. Does not change based on braking or acceleration.

Drive it around without the wheel covers. If the noise stays gone, its the covers itching on the wheel. You (dealer) can apply antisqeak tape. Been a problem since the Cavalier.

Beyond that, sounds like a brake pad abutment clip rubbing the rotor.

I appreciate that! I’ll give it a try and see if that helps by taking the covers off. Honestly, I think I’d much rather run the steelies than the cheap plastic caps.
