I attended a funeral yesterday and had to drive about 25 minutes in a procession to the cemetery. Once I arrived I sat parked in line for about 10 minutes with the engine running and I noticed steam coming from the front of the car near the grill area. There was steam coming from the exhaust of the car in front of me but that wasn't the source. The outside temperature was 37 degrees and raining. The temperature gauge was normal and my Ultragauge was also normal at 222 degrees. Could the steam have been coming from the rain hitting the hot radiator? The Cruze was running fine with no indication of any overheating or other problems and the one hour drive home was uneventful. Has anyone experienced this before and if not what could be causing the steam?

Yes, the scenario you describe seems the likely cause of the steam.
