Still leaking oil...

1500 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  iedgar10
I got my turbo replaced last week. All seemed fine, oil overfilled as usual by dealer, with a significant mpg increase. I took an 80 mile hwy trip and the next day my oil levels had dropped. I also noticed oil had gathered underneath the engine? Transmission? (big silver thing next to the oil pan). I'm very upset and have pretty much given up on this car. It's a dud and I should probably try to sell it as soon as I finish paying the note. I'm afraid to take the car on any long trips because I'm afraid the engine will eventually run out of oil.

Find another dealer, or take it back and have them find the leak.

Seems a lot more sensible than losing so much money on the first year depreciation on a car, especially since this is all covered under warranty.

I wonder if they didn't get the oil lines to the turbo connected properly.
I've checked the Google reviews on every dealership in the area and they are all horrible and some even worse. I know that dissatisfied people tend to be louder than satisfied ones but almost every single review on service department is horrible. The sales staff are always 5 STARS and it's the only reason those dealers have anything above 3 stars... I'm sitting at the dealer lobby now. The service rep is incredibly nice and attentive but the the techs just suck. I'm considering biting the bullet and taking it to an independent shop with high ratings to be diagnosed to tell the dealership what to fix but the more I think about it the more ridiculous that sounds..
Service advisor said there is a leak and that they need to keep it and run dye that reacts to blacklight. So they're keeping it for diagnostics.
