Raja, welcome to CruzeTalk. I think you're the first person here who has a Cruze with start/stop technology so we don't know what is normal for this powertrain.
Welcome and ahh take IT back to your purchasing dealer if this is a complication for you and well this type of a surge while braking to come to a stop is not a normal occurrence for any new vehichle .
Are we really sure this is stop/start (engine shuts off when stopped)? My initial impression is that the engine is surging when he tries to bring the car to a stop.
