I've searched and did not find anything in the forum about this exact question. I was just wondering if anyone has thought of, or completed, a swap of a full-capacity tank from another model into an Eco? I'm sure one could be picked up at a salvage yard for a decent price and then you wouldn't have to do crazy vent modifications and such.

Why? - just fill slowly. Most of the time you're running around town and to & from work, so the loss of 3 gallons shouldn't make much difference for most people. If you have a really long commute or drive for a living then the highway MPG will more than overcome the loss of the easy 3 gallons. If you need to fill the top 3 gallons, just be patient.
