Synch Issues with Apple 10.1.1

My 2013 Cruze infotainment had worked flawlessly for years, but now is experiencing sync issues. Incoming calls are not automatically routed to the "Cruze", but to the phone so you then have to bring up "Audio" on the phone to select "Cruze". The option to "Transfer" the call doesn't result in a transfer from the handset to "Cruze" doesn't work either. There are also occasional issues where my ipod music comes over the speakers automatically during the process of answering a call.
Prior to this issue incoming calls came directly to the speaker system on the car when answered. This isn't the end of the world as I can still manually move the call from the phone to the car, but it means taking my eyes of the road defeating the "hands free" feature.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
