2017 Corvette Grand Sport: Sports Car | Chevrolet

so the last 2010 grand sport was a huge hit and success for GM. it had all the performance bits of the zo6 without the cost. only thing the GS didn't have was the aluminum backbone vs its steel, and carbon fiber vs fiberglass. The last GS i think has all the goddies a zo6 has but at 30k cheaper a massive steal.

lets see if this grand sport can fill that void of the base stingray vs zo6 has today. not every one has 90k lying around and not every one wants to modify a stingray. Any thoughts fellow cruze members?

Love the idea and looks, but nothing will ever beat the look of the C4 GS. That's my next Corvette for sure.

Bring another pair. im sure you'll need um. i didn't think the collectors silver with blue interior would look good... i was very wrong
I'll take the '63 GS and the '63 split window with the 360HP 327 4 speed.
The '17 looks great too but since I'm old I like old school better.

Very nice.

I like the Stingray Vette the most of them all - but I'm relatively young so.

I love it, as I love all corvettes. Some more than others. I like the '91 ZR1 because it has pop-up headlights, gorgeous lines, and it was born the same year as me. And I like the C7 because it's an affordable engineering marvel of a super car. If I could have both the C7 Grand Sport and the car pictured below, I would have the perfect two car garage. Wouldn't even need the bike or the Cruze anymore.

I'm with you man. We can only hope buick gets some form of true performance car. The Regal GS is cool and all but its no where near the performance Halo I'd like to see
Love the look of the new corvette - I don't think they could make it ugly if they tried.

as much as i like the grand national i think the purist will be disappointed . GM 2016 wont make the Grand national like the old one. it would be a great entry level luxury car with a lot of pep but wont be the big block destroyer it was lng ago.

Yeah, they've wised up. They used to sell trucks that were faster than their corvettes. But I'm still excited to see the new Grand National. Also just glad GM isn't forgetting about their performance cars in the midst of this fuel saving frenzy. New Corvette and a new twin turbo Buick? Nice.

Actually I do have a Buick Grand Sport story. Had a friend that had a black one trimmed with grey (mid or late 90's). It was very nice and quick to boot. I didn't see him or the car again until 2001 and it had hail damage all over it. He had a very good job and wasn't hurting for money so I asked him why he didn't repair the hail damage? He said he just kept the insurance money instead of doing the hail repair on this beautiful car. I protested rather loudly even though it wasn't any of my business, and when we see each other these days it's usually just a nod or a little wave.

Edit...Now I'm not sure if it was a Buick Grand Sport or Grand National...I do know it had a V-6 and a big old turbo and it was a nineties model.

I like the GS, but still prefer the skinny body of my Z51. If I was going to go with a wide body, it would come with Z06 badges...

Probably the Grand National, that had a turbo V6 IIRC? Fast car!!

as much as id like to have a zo6 in my drive way its not attainable for most. the grand sport is that sweet spot for guys like me. i track on the weekends and want more then just a stingray, but i don't have the massive $ for the zo6. the grand sport offers all the zo6 goodies i want minus the motor. if i don't end up buying a classic car ill end up buying a c6 GS.
