I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

In 5th gear, right at 33.5 - 34 mph there seems to be a sweet spot on level ground. My DIC stays right about the 70 mpg mark. I drive a lot of 35mph roads which with light predicting is how I got 44mpg mainly city. Paying more attention I realized this spot is probably the reason.

I haven't noticed anything this good in 6th gear. Anyone else have any comments.

...if we call it 34 MPH, then in 5th gear (0.744:1) the engine is only turning over at about 1285 RPM (!)

I also found the most mpg around 35mph or so, peaking into the 50s sometimes depending on weather and incline of road

I am at 43 mpg all city DIC. Since construction has roads slowed to 35 mph, my gas milage has improved. Last time I got a higher real reading then the DIC so we will see this time. It would be higher, but I drove a buddy a 1/2 mile up and down a strip because he wanted to fell what the car can do. Went from 51 mpg to 41 mpg DIC in one mile, since then climbed back to 43.

Its kind of a game.
