I just did a thermostat housing replacement and torques everything to spec and now I have a leak at the front coolant tube with torx t30. I didn't see any gaskets etc on the original. It is properly set and torqued. Is there a need for a gasket or permatex to stop this. Thank you

I just saw that thank you. The old one must have fallen out because I didn't see it. I just ordered one thank you. Back to the drawing board. I couldn't find an aftermarket bone in the local stores.

Glad to help. I have some installing tips also. First make sure the seal surfaces are clean, if someone used gasket maker get it all off. Also, wet the seal, don't put it in dry.

Thanks Johnny. It was the original so no gasket maker and I will make sure to not put it in dry. Just waiting for them part now and hopefully that does the trick. I will torque it to 71 in pounds as I have seen and hope for no leaks. Thank you again.

I am all set. It was that small o ring in the front of the cooler tube that attaches to the thermostat. Torqued it at 71 in pounds and no leak. Btw I changed out they hose clamp to a conventional one. The original is a real pain..thank you all for your help.

I wasn't, but here I go.
In about 3 months you will either have a leak, or a destroyed thermostat. When this happens be sure to blame GM engineers for the failure, secure in knowledge of how I was wrong.

This will be from a hose clamp? Lol. This was for a neighbors car. I drive a Crown Victoria and a 2018 TA 392 so it won't be happening here at my house. I realize now that setup by GM isn't great but I am hoping for the best for them. I followed all the instructions and with your help we got through it. This is similar to the Crown Victoria plastic intake manifold and that is why I installed a mustang racing one . I hear the Hemis have an issue too . When they break down I will get into my classic MGB and never look back
