Hello folks, after many many issues with out 2014 Focus (new transmission, new computer module, new touch screen) we decided that we had had enough & was ready for something new. My wife's nephew is a salesman at local Chevrolet dealer so we dscided to go beat him up on a deal for a new car  (December of 2015 he sold me a new Silverado)

We stopped in this past Saturday & looked at many different Cruses and even a few Malibus. Although we liked the Malibu there was something about it that just bugged us. It seemed to nice for us? Especially the new models, they seemed hoity toity. Now granted they were really nice, comfortable and powerful, but it didnt feel right.

The Cruze was more our style, especially coming from the Focus. We took some for a test drive and went from there on trading in the Focus for a 2016 Kinetic Blue Cruse LT with the RS package. The wife is really happy with the decision (she will be the main driver of it)

Welcome to CruzeTalk fellow Ohioan! :D

Nice upgrade, haha. I have heard from tons of people (and the Ford garage that I bought my Cruze from) that those Focus's are nothing but problems.

Ha Ha! Ohio is the best!
There was some few things that we liked about the Focus, we had a hatchback & I really enjoyed the styling of it & some of the little extras that came with the car, but I can't get past the mechanical issues. Especially since after getting a new transmission last may, after only a year the issues are starting to pop up again.

The Cruse does run smoother and quieter then the Focus, plus seems to have a little more pep off the line. (probably because the transmission is so much better :go:
Great looking car you got there. Welcome aboard!

WHY would you even buy a ford ... when you have a hook-up at a Chevy dealer? LOL
But I didn't realize you can't be hoity toity in a Cruze  I always thought that was a state of mind ... or was it a state of shock?

There is some ForMoCo stuff out there that were good. They stopped making them unfortunately, panther frame that is.

Yup yup. Amen to that. I'm still keeping my eyes open for a low mileage Crown Vic that was owned by an elderly couple. Most of them I see now are beat, but have 250-300k miles on them and run like new.

Ford was retarded for discontinuing that platform.

Yeah Towncars and CV are crap shoot.

Grand Marquis and Marauders seem to be the case but Marauders are also turning up molested with lift kits and lambo doors.

First off, congrats on the purchase, fellow Ohioan! :eek:ccasion14:

I don't know if its just me or not, but, the gen 2 Cruze (from the angle the 2nd picture was taken), looks similar to the Focus (minus the badging).

There is my random thought for the day! LOL

Yeah! If I would have known sooner I would probably be making plans to go to that. Unfortunately we already have plans this weekend & can't go!

Thanks everyone! We are pretty **** happy with the car. Wife let me drive it to work yesterday & I have to say it seems pretty **** nice. It's a quiet, smooth ride. I am pretty sure we will be happy for awhile with it.

Yeah it happens, I got my car like 40 days after the 1st meet happened. Made the rest of them after that.

I'm now trying to pass on the Cruze bug to my Step-son ... I found a few for him to check out, and he seems to be leaning that direction now. Couldn't quite talk him into the manual yet, but I'm still working on it since I never got to teach him to drive one before he left for the Military. A car with nearly 700 horsepower to the wheels wouldn't be the easiest to learn on ... Not to mention I'm not CRAZY enough to let him actually drive my Pontiac if he DID know how to drive a stick!
