Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer was fired for disobeying a direct, lawful order from the Commander in Chief of the United States - no more, no less. The Seal in question, Gallager, had already been acquitted of murder but the Navy was still dead set on forcing him to resign in disgrace over a picture of himself with the dead ISIS fighter. The penalty for this was way out of line with the infraction.

Rear Admiral Collin Green, Commander, Navy Special Warfare, should also be removed for the same reason. He's threatening to take action on Gallager's entire chain of command.

Disgusting, I guess you can take selfies with the middle easterner you just murdered. Where can I sign up?

First he didn't murder the terrorist, another Seal did so and admitted to doing so. Second he didn't defile the corpse. Third it is common practice to take photos of dead terrorists in order to identify them.
